1953
QGRDI originated from the glass business division of the State Building Materials Bureau in the 1950s and is one of the earliest scientific research and design units established in China's glass industry.
1971
In response to national strategic planning, QGRDI was relocated from Beijing to Qinhuangdao. Its former names were Qinhuangdao Glass Research Institute and Qinhuangdao Glass Design Institute.
1995
Qinhuangdao Glass Research Institute and Qinhuangdao Glass Design Institute were merged into one legal entity, known as Qinhuangdao Glass Industry Research and Design Institute.
